Monitor Food Intake BioDAQ Food Intake Modules monitor the ad libitum feeding of lab rats and mice both periodically, using Unplugged or episodically with a complete BioDAQ E2 electronic system. Use OpenSource Diets The BioDAQ food hopper works best with 1/2 inch diameter pelleted OpenSource Diets from Research Diets, Inc. Other diets, especially grain based chows and some very high fat diets will cause spilling and require more diligent maintenance of the system. Be sure to consult with our staff before purchasing a diet for use in the BioDAQ. We have over 20 years experience in formulating and pelleting lab animal diets for research. Multiple Food Hoppers The modularity of the BioDAQ allows for multiple food hoppers to be mounted on one cage. In this configuration you can study food preference or monitor pica behavior when dosing compounds with the addition of kaolin pellets.
